In 2012 was inaugurated the Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht in what was the historical building of the public library of Amsterdam, along the Prinsengracht canal. The interior design is signed by Marcel Wanders.

The historic building is recognizable only on the outside , beyond the facade of the building has been completely changed and made according to high quality standards with a focus on sustainable energy. The vitality and spirit of the district lives in environments designed by Marcel Wanders, the hotel lies in the historic city centre between art galleries and trendy shops.

The concept of interior design is based on a contemporary reinterpretation of Dutch history. The architect uses colors and elements that have become the collective representative of Holland as a maxi designs and patterns inspired by the traditional blue Delft pottery, the golden age, the tulips, the color orange, it also lacks an important use of books that recall the original function of the building.
